Saeed Shirzad is a political prisoner of Section 8 of Evin Prison.
He was arrested on 2014 June 2 at his workplace at the refinery of Tabriz and then moved to Tehran.
Namely Saeed Shirzad was arrested for the first time August 21, 2012 when he went to help victims of the earthquake in eastern Azarbaijan Ahar. he was released on bail after spending 19 days in jail.
Saeed Shirzad, a 27-year-old human rights activist and an active member of the Society for Defending Street and Working Children, has been detained since 2 June 2014. He spent over two months in solitary confinement in Section 209 of Tehran’s Evin Prison, without access to his family and lawyer and under pressure to make a video-taped “confession”, before he was transferred to Section 8, where people jailed for non-political crimes are held.
